Dear Patrick:
\J
Here is more information on the LISP Conference.

The Committee now includes:
John R. Allen,
Bob Boyer,
Richard Fateman,
Dan Friedman,
Tony Hearn,
Carl Hewitt,
Alan Kay,
Joachim Laubsch,
John McCarthy,
Gianfranco Prini,
and
Erik Sandewall.
This will be a memorable conference.

As of this date I have not received your response. October 15, 1979 is the
very latest I can hold an unfilled committee position.

The schedule is much more definite now, but still many of the questions
that I sent you remain unresolved; I hope you will be able to supply
some of the answers.

I made an error in the draft schedule: orignially I had expected the committee
to read all of the papers; that could be a severe burden. I had meant to
revise the wording to read "each paper will be read by three members". Instead,
it came out "each member will read three papers"; a significant difference.
It is too early to estimate the work-load yet, but
papers can be delegated to colleagues
and there is a ten-week period for the review.

I am enclosing a draft of the Call for Papers; it is \F2only\F1
a draft so please send comments!
I apologize for the quality of these copies; our XGP is quite sick, but
it was important to get this information in the mail.
